MH-31 TAKE 10!!

Take # 1:
If you plan to buy some property in Nagpur, say a plot or an apartment, all you need to do is this- let people know about it! You'll be flooded with calls and offers from mushrooming real estate agents. It is undoubtedly the most preferred profession in this city of "realty boom". The number of such agents is higher than the number of property possessors and prospective buyers put together!

Take # 2: Nagpurians have plenty of time for others. They are concerned about you and give you loads of suggestions and gyaan, ranging from your daughter's marriage to benefits of morning walk!
Picture this- There is a minor accident on road. The gathering ensures it looks big. The horde includes analysts, counselors, advocates, and at times a judge. These people debate on topics like who is responsible for the accident and also devise the subsequent plan of action.

Take# 3: I prefer the tag "Green City" over "Orange City". Whenever a bollywood star, or even a B-grade actor for that matter, comes to Nagpur, you'll find him/her praising city's oranges. Please tell them Nagpur no more produces oranges. End of story.

Take # 4: This city has given two brilliant leaders to the nation in the past year- Nitin Gadkari and Shashank Manohar. But the problem is we have never had apt representation in Parliament. Instead of addressing the core issues, Vilas Muttemwar (MP) and the MLAs are demanding a separate Vidarbh state. When they cannot take care of a city, how on earth will they manage a state?!

Take # 5: 80%, sorry, 90% of the educational institutions of the city are owned, sorry, run by people from political class. Did you ask "quality"?! You must be joking! And then we have our very own "Reluctant To Modernize Nagpur University" (RTMNU)!

Take # 6: Enter a government office around 5 pm and the employees shall give you a "how-dare-you-expect-us-to serve-at-this-moment?-look"! The general laid-back attitude of maximum population is what restricts big companies, never mind MNCs, to enter this city.

Take # 7: Well Nagpurians are modern people. At-least the attire suggests so! A guy and a girl go out for a coffee, or say a movie, they're friends. They go out twice, thrice, and there are stories about they "going around" and something being "fishy"! Don't believe me? Try it out; results guaranteed.

Take # 8: MIHAN- More than half the population does not know what is it all about, leave aside the long form of the acronym. That does not stop them from discussing about the advantages, job prospects, or debating on topics like who should be credited for the project- Congress or BJP. Anyways, it started when I was in school and Inshaallah will be completed before I have school going kids!

Take # 9: To get ANY kind of work in this city, all you need is good contacts. That's it! If you have some, you are blessed. If you don't, my sincere advice to you- please expand your network.

Take # 10: You must have heard Nagpur is a Tier-III city. Well there are various classifications by corporates, government, industries, etc. Allow me to classify my hometown, after taking into consideration a lot of factors- Nagpur is not a small city, it's indeed a huge village!

And yes, as the pic reads, I love my city! :D
