Riots- WHY??

This is the video we made for an assignment here at SIMC. It is also the first short-film/video made by the 2012 batch! Sameer Prabhu came up with the concept, I wrote the Nazm and recited. Swaraj, Prasad, Tushar, Swati, Rohit contributed too.

Here I am sharing the first few lines of my Nazm that are not included in the video:

जब भी दंगो के बारे में सोचता हूँ,
मैं सूखते ज़ख्मों को कुरेदता हूँ ...
ज़हन में आती है अखबारों में छपी तस्वीरें,
दिखाई देती है उधडी लाशें,
रोते तड़पते लोग..
रूह काप उठती है..

मैं न मंदिर न मस्जिद जाता हूँ,
बस चैन से जीना चाहता हूँ;
ये हक मुझे देता है भगवान्,
और इसे पुख्ता करता है संविधान...
मगर हम दोनों को मानते है,
दोनों की नहीं मानते;
यही बड़ी मुसीबत है,
सब जानते है...
